BURNETT RANCHES SENDS SIX TO EQUINE SALE

LOS ALAMITOS RACE COURSE, CYPRESS, CA... Year after year, the Los Alamitos Equine Sale attracts not only some of the finest yearling Quarter Horses in the country, but also some of the nation's top horsemen and breeders as well. One such a breeder is Burnett Ranches, the owners of 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas. Local racing fans may be most familiar with Burnett Ranches' superstar runner One Famous Eagle, who took the Southern California racing circuit by storm in 2007 and 2008, winning important races like the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, the Golden State Derby, and the Los Alamitos Super Derby. With a total of six consignments in this year's catalog, Burnett Ranches figures to be a major player in the 2009 Equine Sale.

Among their most exciting prospects is Follys Fast, a colt by Separatist out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Sixes Folly. Hip number 161 in the sale, Follys Fast's mother Sixes Folly was a finalist in the 2005 Los Alamitos Million Juvenile Stakes. Moreover, the entire female family line exudes a great deal of class, as Follys Fasts's second dam is Champions Of Champions winner and AQHA World Champion Dashing Folly.

Another colt that's certainly worthy of mention is hip number 138, a regally bred son of First Down Dash named First Down Jaguars. Out of Four Corners Futurity winner Shaded In Gray, he comes from a stellar female family that's already produced several talented runners. Some of his siblings include Lassie Handicap winner Shaded In Speed, $43,345 earner This Seis Can Race, and Corona For Two, the third-place finisher in the 2007 Ruidoso Juvenile Stakes.

Burnett Ranches sends out another intriguing prospect in Rustys Kool Lady, hip number 242 in this year's sale. A yearling filly by First N Kool, her class traces directly back to her mother Beduinos Rusty, a gifted four-time winner from only five career outings. A full sister to World Champion and millionaire Whosleavingwho, she scored a runaway win in the 1995 Sam Houston Futurity. Beduinos Rusty has also been a successful broodmare as well, producing B.F. Phillips, Jr. Handicap winner Hesa Lil Bit High and $87,693 earner Rustys Quickid.

Sexy Perry could also create some buzz. Hip number 137 in the 2009 catalog, this filly by Mr Jess Perry is a three-quarter sister to Streakin Angelica, a six-time winner with earnings in excess of $100,000. Now a twelve-year-old daughter of Streakin La Jolla, she enjoyed her finest season in 2000, taking the Grade II Louisiana Champions Day Derby and the Walter Mcllhenny Stars And Stripes Handicap at Delta Downs.

Rounding out the group is hip number 140, Runaway Shake, and hip number 160, Fishers Wisdom. Consigned by Burnett Ranches and Johnny Trotter, Runaway Shake is a yearling son of 2005 Champion Of Champions winner Ocean Runaway. Finally, Fishers Wisdom will complete the lineup. A yearling filly by Fishers Dash, she's out of the Special Leader mare Simple Wisdom.
